Holly Berry Mittens

Take the most special red yarn you can find, wrap it with two kinds of lace, then tie it with a bow. These super-cozy mittens begin with luscious liners in Bare Naked Wools Festivus Worsted on a slightly-smaller-than-usual needle. Work the outer mittens with the same needle and a thinner yarn to create lace that allows the cranberry glow to shine through. Mittens are joined together with an i-cord bindoff before adding optional i-cord bows.

Women’s S (M, L): 7 (7 ½, 8) inches palm circumference; 8¼ (9¼, 10¼) inches from cuff to top of mitten

Materials
Knitspot Festivus Worsted 4.0 (100% Merino wool, 220 yds/100 g skein), color: Cranberry Crush, 1 skein for all sizes
Knitspot Kent DK (60% Merino wool, 40% Romney wool; 300 yds/115 g skein), color: White Caps, 1 skein for all sizes
US4 Set of DPNs or 40-inch (or longer) circular needle for working Magic Loop (or size needed to achieve gauge)
Stitch markers, waste yarn, tapestry needle

Gauge
20 sts x 32 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette Stitch in Worsted yarn
