Flowering in winter, the galanthus (or snowdrop) serves as a timely reminder that beautiful things bloom on even the darkest of days. In floriography (the language of flowers), the galanthus traditionally symbolises hope and consolation. My hope for this pattern is that your new Galanthus Socks can provide you with a small sense of comfort, whenever it is most needed.
Construction:
The Galanthus Socks are knitted top down, with a half twisted rib cuff, heel flap and gusset, and a snowdrop lace panel with options for either a plain or patterned back. The 9-row repeat lace pattern has both written instructions and a chart from which to work.
Sizes: S (M, L).
Knitted sock circumference: 7 (8, 9) inches/18 (20, 23) cm.
Suggested yarn: 4-ply/fingering weight yarn, such as Drops Nord or Regia Merino Yak 4-ply (approx. 55 (70, 90) grams/190 (240, 310) metres for standard-length plain back version).
Suggested needle size: 2.5mm or appropriate needles to obtain gauge.
