From Faith and Football to Purpose Beyond Survival

My journey began in Uganda, shaped by faith, discipline, and community. Those values followed me across the world and carried me to the University of Texas, where American football became both my identity and my dream.

But in an instant, everything changed.

A serious heart condition ended my career and forced me to confront a painful question:

Who am I without the game?

Hospital rooms replaced stadiums as I waited for a donor heart. In the stillness, I learned that real strength is not found in performance, but in patience, faith, and surrender. When the call finally came, I received more than a new heart; I received a second chance at life, rooted in gratitude, humility, and purpose.

This book is the story of that transformation.

Today, my life is no longer defined by what I lost but by what I was given. Through advocacy and community work, I now support others facing organ failure, honor donors and their families, and extend compassion beyond borders, including back to Uganda, where service has become a calling.

A Second Chance at Life is not just a memoir of survival. It is a story of identity, faith, and responsibility, a reminder that when one dream ends, a greater mission can begin.
