The Illustrated Encyclopedia Of Oboe Reedmaking: An Audio/Visual Companion

REEDMAKING AND TESTING MADE UNDERSTANDABLE WITH REAL WORLD EXAMPLES AND SPECTRAL DISPLAY

About This Course

This course is the first in a series of courses and is the audio/visual companion to The Illustrated Encyclopedia Of Oboe Reedmaking.

REEDMAKING AND TESTING MADE UNDERSTANDABLE WITH REAL WORLD EXAMPLES AND SPECTRAL ANALYSIS

focuses on the primary aural tests performed on the reed without the oboe. These tests, and the way they are performed and interpreted, have a huge impact on making successful reeds easily, quickly, and reliably.

Going Beyond The Book Using Sound

This course expands upon the book with AUDIO and VIDEO that includes demonstrations and audio representations of the 3 basic reedmaking tests and their playability. The course uses the reeds that appear in lessons 2 and 3 and spectral analysis to show the student exactly what kind of sound the reed is producing during the crow, toot, and breath attack, as well as when the reed is played on the oboe at various stages of development.
