Wealth of The Wicked
The Wealth of the Wicked: What God Never Promised By Cedric Mebane
For years the Church has repeated a message that sounds bold and exciting: “The wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous.” But when we return to the Hebrew text and the teachings of Jesus, we discover a truth that exposes the lie at the center of modern preaching.
Proverbs 13:22 is wisdom, not prophecy. The Hebrew word tsaphan does not mean “transfer.” It means hidden, blocked, or kept out of reach—often for judgment, not blessing. The verse never promised that unbelievers’ money would one day flow into the hands of Christians.
Jesus never taught it.
The apostles never preached it.
The early Church never expected it.
Instead, Scripture warns that the desire for wealth leads to ruin (1 Tim. 6:9), that riches can choke the Word (Mark 4:19), and that God chose the poor to be rich in faith (James 2:5). Revelation shows the wealthiest system on earth—Babylon—burning under God’s judgment, not funding His Kingdom.
This book exposes the false hope of a coming wealth transfer and restores the simple truth:
The Kingdom is not built by money.
The Kingdom is built by the Lamb.
If the wealth of the wicked were truly coming, only the truly righteous would receive it—and the righteous do not chase wealth. They chase God.
The righteous do not inherit money.
They inherit the earth.
