What is this

I have no illusions that what you see in “What Is This?” is anything more than simple drawings. I wanted to have fun capturing a moment in time, a snapshot not as a camera would see it but as I felt it. The book “What Is This?” has people, places, traditions, nature, and simple sketches.  I haven't labeled or dated these sketches but they resemble art work I did years ago. If you are looking for examples of excellent art or techniques for creating excellent art, look somewhere else. That’s not why I wrote “What Is This?” The point of “What Is This?” comes down to one word: courage. I want “What Is This?” to give you courage.

 

 

If what you sketch or write makes you happy, why should anyone deny you that happiness? For those of you who have artistic gifts that exceed mine, I’ll be the first to show respect and admiration for your creative vision and commitment to excellence. If my talent exceeds yours, that’s not important. Just be yourself and create for yourself. I hope “What Is This?” gives you the courage to explore that side of your personality.  There is something to “What is this?” What is in a name...? Find the ‘sun, ' count the candles on the cake, is the chicken walking, A basketball player, How many mice are on a page. What Is This?” is easy to read, understandable and inviting for children.
