the poem

In the dead of night, they came to me,

Alien creatures, frightening to see.

Their eyes, like pools of endless black,

Pierced my soul, and I couldn't fight back.

Their hands, like tendrils, cold and slimy,

Held me tight, and I felt grimy.

They took me up, up into the sky,

And I couldn't help but wonder why.

Their ship was dark, and full of gloom,

I felt like I was in a tomb.

They probed and prodded, and I felt pain,

I thought I'd never see Earth again.

But then, they let me go, and I fell,

Back to my home, my living hell.

I'll never forget that eerie night,

When I was taken, by beings not quite right.
