A full round of golf in six rolls of three dice.

The course is cut into six three-hole stretches. You roll once per stretch, read the row, and a complete round takes about four minutes. Everything you need is here - one links course, three rated golfers, a card each and a way to build your own. Nothing to look up, nothing else to buy.

The decision is the game. Every stretch has two rows. HOLD is the percentage play, and it is the better play on average every single time. TAKE IT ON improves your good outcomes only - and it drops your Charge line, raises your Capitulation line, and makes you roll a hazard die alongside the three. On a 1 the ground gets you, and the hazard does not care how good your golfer is. A rating buys a better result when you pull the shot off. It does not buy you out of the water.

So attacking is only correct when the average is no longer any use to you. Last stretch, two behind, water short of the green. You know what you have to do, and the card knows exactly what it costs.

What is in it

  • Ashveil Links - a clifftop links with two reachable par 5s, a carry over a sea inlet, and three of the fastest greens in the country coming home. The card tells you where it is worth attacking and where it is a trap
  • Three golfers - a bomber who cannot chip, the best putter on tour who is short off the tee, and a short-game artist with no nerve. A card each, with a four-round tracker
  • Charge and Capitulation - the three holes nobody in the field gets near, and the ones that wreck a card
  • Twenty golfer traits - the one who always starts badly, the one you would not back from three feet, the one who is only dangerous on Sunday. Four of them cost you something
  • Build a golfer - nation, name and type tables, a points guide, and blank cards, so you can put a new three on the tee and run the week again
  • Stroke play, match play or solo. A round in four minutes, a four-round tournament in under an hour.
