The Whitewater Wrap is inspired by the waterfall in the middle of my hometown, Wairere falls in Whakatane, where I spent a lot of time climbing the rocks as a kid. Half of the wrap is worked in fluid lace inspired by the movement of flowing, rushing water, the stitches shifting direction and catching the light. The garter stitch half of the wrap provides a restful contrast.

Skills & Techniques
Simple lace knitting (k, p, yo, k2tog, ssk). The stitch pattern is intuitive, and WS rows are knit and purl only.

Materials Needed
3 skeins of Wren & Ollie Sock Yarn (85% superwash merino, 15% nylon; 437yds/400m per 100g skein), or 1,235yds/1,130m of fingering-weight yarn. Sample colourway: ‘Glisten’.

Finished Measurements
75.5”/192cm at longest point, and 23”/58.5cm wide. You can alter the size of the wrap by adding/subtracting repeats: each 6 st repeat added/subtracted will also add/subtract 24 rows.
