You are not lazy, and you are not failing. You are building your whole life from a nearly empty battery.

Somewhere around three months into motherhood, most of us start waiting to feel like ourselves again. You love this baby more than you knew was possible, and yet there is a version of you that seems to have gone somewhere, and nobody quite mentions where she went.

Nothing has stuck because you have been building habits for the woman you were, and she had something you do not have right now, which is capacity. So this does not ask you to try harder. It shows you how to build a version of looking after yourself that survives a night with no sleep, and then how to grow it as your Capacity comes back.

WHAT YOU GET

The Audiobook (2 hours). Read for you in full, because a woman with a baby on her lap cannot hold a book. Listen on the pram walk, in the car, while you feed at two in the morning. This is the format most mums actually finish.

The Book. The complete Method in a beautifully designed 66-page PDF book, with diagrams, worksheets and reflection questions, for the days you would rather read and mark things up.

The Visual Guide. A companion to the audiobook with every diagram, worksheet and reflection question laid out to see, print or fill in on screen.

The Planner. Twelve weeks of Capacity planning, in both a printable version and a fillable one with over 270 live fields, so you can work on paper or on your phone.

WHAT'S INSIDE THE METHOD

Capacity - how to read what you actually have today, and stop planning your week for a woman who slept eight hours.

Your Pink Minimum - the smallest version of looking after yourself, small enough that you can do it on your very worst day, which means the streak never fully breaks.

The Four Pillars - Eat, Move, Rest and Flourish, each broken into habits that fit around feeding, naps and a day that refuses to go to plan.

Low, Medium and High Capacity Days - three versions of your week, so a hard day changes what you do rather than whether you do anything.

The Capacity Cycle - why one small thing tips the whole week in a different direction, and how to use that on purpose.

WHAT THIS IS NOT

There is no meal plan, no calorie counting, no bounce-back, and nothing that asks you to shrink. What there is instead is a way of eating, moving and resting that works at the Capacity you actually have, built by someone who is in the same year you are.

WHY IT MATTERS NOW

The thing nobody warns you about is not the tiredness. It is how easily you get used to it.

Right now you can still feel the gap between who you were and who you are, which means you have not adapted to it yet. Give it long enough and most of us stop noticing, lowering what we expect for ourselves so gradually that it never feels like a decision, until we look up in ten years and wonder where she went.

You do not have to fix everything to change direction. You only have to start putting something back.

WHO WROTE THIS

I'm Brianna, a Personal Trainer with Certificate III and IV in Fitness, pregnancy and postnatal qualifications and over ten years of coaching behind me. I'm also in my first year of motherhood right now, so I wrote this while living it rather than from memory.

I have spent a decade watching women wait for the right time to start, and there is never a right time. There is only a smaller version of starting.
