The Bright Side — Burin Peninsula Edition began with a simple idea: to create something people could pick up, slow down with, and feel a little better after reading.
Each week, its pages are filled with stories about life, community, people and places, along with humour, reflections, puzzles, recipes, local voices and those ordinary little moments that remind us there is still so much good around us.
And while The Bright Side may be created here on the Burin Peninsula, its stories aren't only for people who live here.

Hi, I’m Nicole Litven, owner, writer and publisher of The Bright Side — Burin Peninsula Edition.
What began as a small weekly newspaper on the Burin Peninsula has grown into something I never quite expected: a collection of voices, stories, laughter, memories and everyday moments shared by people who believe there is still plenty of good worth noticing.
Every issue is created right here in Newfoundland, with contributions from writers who bring their own experiences, humour, wisdom and heart to its pages.
The digital edition simply lets us open the door a little wider.
