"It is some time since we had such a notable figure as the Dowager Countess of Rosslyn in the Bankruptcy Court. She chiefly shines, it is true, in reflected glory, by reason of her five daughters; Lady Warwick, one of the most clever and enterprising women in Society: Lady Angela Forbes : the Duchess of Sutherland, who is also “brainy”: Lady Algernon Lennox, who at one time aimed at disputing the title of “the best dressed woman in London” with the wife of a popular actor: and Lady Westmoreland. The Dowager Countess is also an interesting figure on her own account, though she has now given up decorating houses, and then persuading her friends to buy them."
