There are two ways to learning. One is to read or listen to what others write or say. Read and read. Listen and listen. And you know more and more. Hopefully with this new found knowledge you learn how to avoid the treacherous path. Another way is to learn through your own experience. It is fine if you come out of it alive, but many lost their lives along the way. Their stories were left buried in their graves. The world has lost these valuable teachers.

Over the years I have the unpleasant task of listening to case after case of tragic experiences. I share with you some of these stories in this book. It is my sincere hope that their experiences become a guide for those who come after them. By writing these stories I am not asking you to forsake medical treatment. By all means, follow what your heart says.

It is our life. It is your choice.

A Russian physician, dramatist and author wrote, “The only difference between doctors and lawyers is that lawyers merely rob you, whereas doctors rob you and kill you too.” Take time to reflect on this statement. The stake in the “cancer casino” is high.
