About the pattern

Listen to the rustle of the dried leaves on the beech trees that are waiting for the spring to come, while wearing your warm and cozy cowl with leaf motifs.

Worked up in sock weight yarn, this is the perfect autumn or spring accessory for chilly morning errands or windy outdoor walks.

Make it longer for extra warmth or to cover your ears.

Mosaic crochet makes this cowl extra thick, despite the thin yarn, and slightly elastic, for a snug fit.

You can use up a skein of beautiful hand-dyed yarn paired with a simple color, or two balls of sock yarn. You will work flat and seam the resulting rectangular piece.

Two bands of honeycomb stitch at the top and bottom of the cowl ensure that the fabric will not curl.

You can also make this into a scarf by reducing the number of pattern repeats and making the piece longer.

Skill level

Advanced in Tunisian crochet, due to working with complex stitches in two colors, front post stitches and pattern repeats.
