Healthy Aging with Yoga includes practices and tools for students who want to be proactive about maintaining their health, independence, and well-being at any age. In this online workshop, we’ll focus on the foundations you’ll need to keep your body, mind, and spirit healthy as you age: strength, flexibility, balance, agility, and equanimity.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
The Science of Aging and Yoga:
Discover how yoga can positively impact the aging process. Recent studies have shown that regular yoga practice can enhance physical health, improve mental clarity, and promote emotional well-being. Research indicates that yoga helps reduce inflammation, improve flexibility and balance, and lower the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease and arthritis.
Yoga Philosophy for Healthy Aging:
Dive into the philosophy of yoga that supports a holistic approach to aging gracefully. We will explore concepts such as mindfulness, acceptance, and living in harmony with nature, which are integral to maintaining a positive outlook as we age.
Asana Practices:
Participate in tailored yoga sessions focusing on asanas (postures) that are particularly beneficial for aging bodies. These practices are designed to enhance strength, flexibility, and balance while being gentle on the joints.
