JERONIMORE

JeroniMore is the bigger brother of the popular Jeronimo Messenger Bag which released in 2021. JeroniMore is more Jeronimo, not only because it’s bigger, but also because it has new construction methods I’ve developed over the years to make the pattern more domestic sewing machine friendly. If your sewing machine is capable of sewing two layers of leather, you are able to make a JeroniMore!

Like his smaller brother, JeroniMore has the same pockets and compartments for organizing your belongings. There is a zipper pocket on the flap, a zipper pocket on the back and a slip pocket with attached zipper pocket on the front. The main compartment closes with a recessed zipper, is lined and has a lining slip pocket. The flap closes with a magnetic snap closure. The buckle on the flap is for decoration but also adjustable if needed. The bag has an adjustable two tone strap with an eye catching braided accent.

It is a raw edge bag designed for leather of 3 oz.

BONUS ADD-ON

This pattern comes with an extra bonus add-on!

The braiding technique that is used on the strap can also be used to make a braided key fob. Instructions are included for this optional feature.

SEWING LEVEL

Sewing level is rated as intermediate. It will be helpful if you are familiar with sewing leather, sewing small seam allowances, sewing zippers and sewing round corners.

PATTERN AND INSTRUCTIONS

You will receive two PDF files when you purchase this pattern:

1 PDF file with instructions,

1 PDF file with pattern pieces.

The PDF file with instructions consists of almost 60 pages with step by step instructions. There are almost 200 full color photos to illustrate the instructions and help you sew a JeroniMore. There is also a section about tips and tricks on sewing leather, which is very helpful if you start with sewing leather.

The PDF file with pattern pieces consists of 20 pages you can print at home (letter size or A4 size paper). After taping you have full pattern pieces for all pattern pieces (except for the strap). No more cutting on the fold, which is practically impossible with leather!

The pattern is tested by a team of very experienced testers.

Leather/lining/interfacing/stabilizer

• Leather 3 oz (1.2 mm): minimum of 10 sq ft.: 24” x 59” (60 x 150 cm)
• Lining fabric: 1/3 yard from 54” wide (30 cm x 140 cm)
• Interfacing SF101/Vilene G700: 1/3 yard from 54” wide (30 cm x 140 cm)
• Stabilizer (optional): 29 ½” x 12” (75 x 30 cm)
• Nylon tape (or a strip of Cordura): 3/8” (1 cm) wide 20” (50 cm)
• Nylon webbing 1” (2.5 cm) wide: 59” (150 cm)

Hardware

• Magnetic snap rivet set: 1x 9/16” (14 mm)
• 1” (2.5 cm) Buckle: 1x
• 1” (2.5 cm) Rectangle ring***: 2x
• 1” (2.5 cm) Triglide (wide mouth): 1x
• Metal zipper end: 1x

***If you want your strap to be detachable you have to substitute the rectangle rings for D-rings and add two swivel clips to your list of materials.

• rivet press or setter with dies for double cap rivets (6, 8 and 10 mm diameter) and for magnetic snap rivets of 9/16” (14 mm) diameter

• leather needles #16 or #18 (size 100 or 110)
• bonded nylon thread wt 40, tex 70
• leather glue with silicone brush
• fabric glue
• 1/8” (3 mm) DST (double sided tape)
• ruler with craft knife, rotary cutter and scissors
• 2.5 mm, 4 mm and 11 mm hole punch
• silver pen and disappearing pen for fabric
• leather clips
• some scrap pieces of Decovil or glass fiber tape for reinforcement
• a scrap piece of thin leather (pigskin, lambskin) to cover the prongs of the logo badge
• skiving knife or electric bell skiver
• poly roller tool or rubber mallet
• sand paper grit 360 and 1200
• leather edge paint with edge paint roller (optional)
• Tokonole burnishing gum and cotton cloth (optional)
• leather braiding needle (optional) or tweezers

TERMS OF USE

I encourage you to make as many bags as you wish to sell, however this pattern may not be used for mass production. Please do not sell or distribute this PDF pattern.
