Dr Em of GlitterBrain Psychology presents the post-diagnosis therapy group

Making sense of me: ADHD life beyond the label

Welcome GlitterBrains,

I believe an ADHD or AuDHD diagnosis should be the beginning of your journey, not the end. Here are some questions I often hear from clients after receiving a diagnosis:

  • Errrr… What now?
  • How should I feel about this?
  • Who do I tell, and how?
  • I’ve got a name for some of my struggles, but how do I learn skills to cope with them?
  • Would my life have been different if I'd known sooner?
  • How could this be impacting my relationships?
  • Can I get support at work? Or more support in life?

Too often people are left with a stack of unanswered questions and unprocessed feelings. This online therapy group offers a space to make sense of it all. Led by me, a Clinical Psychologist specialising in neurodiversity, with the distinctive insight of a clinician living with ADHD myself.

🌶️🧠 Extra neuro-spicy people welcome:

Around 70% of people with ADHD would meet the criteria for more than one form of neurodivergence. The brain can develop variations in multiple areas simultaneously. I myself have 4 diagnoses of neurodivergence. People who also have Autism, Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia, Dysgraphia and Tourette’s Syndrome are very welcome. The only requirement is that you also have ADHD.

👥 Dip a toe in first

Before paying in full for the group, everyone will have the opportunity to meet with me 1-1.

I understand that a therapy group is a big commitment and it’s important to know if it’s a good fit. You don’t have to do that alone. The first step will be a 1-1 session to discuss your unique experience and personal goals. I will draw on my clinical experience to guide you to the form of support I believe is the best fit, whether that's the post-diagnosis group or something better suited to you. My number 1 goal is directing you towards support that matches where you're at in your journey.

You are not required to pay anything at this point.

This is purely a place to express interest and hold your place on the waiting list.

I will email everyone on the waiting list as soon as 1-1 slots are available to book, offered on a first come, first served basis.

If you choose to book the 1-1 session, advance payment of £140 will be required. If after this meeting you decide not to continue with the group, there is no pressure.

*Note: the £140 cost of the 1-1 session will be taken off the price of the group should you choose to book the full package outlined below.

🪙Full group cost £1,600 per person

* Stripe payments are accepted for those wishing to break the cost down over time.

→ 20% less than the equivalent cost of 1-1 sessions

→ Amplified value from the group experience

→ Additional resources and content

Includes:

  • Two 1-1 sessions
  • Eight 90-minute group sessions
  • A group chat to support each other throughout the group (optional)
  • A workbook with session summaries and guidance on what skills to try between sessions
  • A personalised reflective diary to build something personal as you grow

I created this group precisely to make this support accessible to more people. The cost is kept as low as possible whilst making the offer sustainable.

Here are the details:

Over the course of the group we’ll explore:

You and your brain

  • WHY your brain works the way it does, because understanding is the antidote to shame.
  • Are neurodivergent people 'more sensitive' with a stronger sense of justice? If so why?
  • How to navigate RSD (rejection sensitive dysphoria)

Your life and relationships

  • What’s really worth your precious energy? What (and who) can you step back from?
  • What reaching your full potential could look like
  • How your experiences shape your relationships
  • How to nurture positive connections

Practical skills

  • How to spot signs of struggle early, and what to do about them
  • Mini resets to break the boom-bust cycle
  • Skills for managing ADHD symptoms and executive dysfunction
  • How to access further support, at work and in life

This is where you start understanding your potential.

What makes this group well suited to people with ADHD?

This isn't just another support group. It’s specialist-led, evidence-based group therapy.

Research suggests group therapy can be particularly effective for improving core ADHD symptoms and executive function (Liu et al., 2026). Online group programmes have been shown to improve quality of life and self-acceptance, with benefits maintained at follow-up (Seery et al., 2024).

The magic of body doubling

Just being in the presence of others helps our brains to work more optimally, making it easier for understanding and skills building to take place.

"I'd do it for someone else… but I struggle to do it for myself"

I hear this all the time from my ADHD clients. In a group setting, skills are more likely to stick because you're not on your own. Being in a supportive group of people on a similar journey is exactly what helps us to stay accountable. This is where intentions are turned into real life actions.

The compassion rebound trick

People with ADHD tend to be highly critical of themselves, and have learned to expect others to be critical of them too. In contrast they're often very supportive of others. A group setting is the perfect opportunity to nurture the qualities of kindness, understanding and support you give out freely to others… and then I can use my clinical skills to help you to offer yourself the kind of support you need to thrive too. This might sound impossible right now. I felt almost allergic to self-compassion practices when I first tried them. With time it is possible to learn to become your best friend, so that you and your brain can finally get on the same team.

Evidence-based psychology, high-dopamine delivery

The GlitterBrain approach is like a neuroscience lecture crashed into a pantomime. I bring 17 years of clinical experience, 7,000+ hours supporting people in therapy, and a lifetime of living with ADHD. In short, I have a wealth of personal and professional experience.

This isn’t just “ADHD friendly”, it’s custom built for ADHD brains.

Your own personalised start and finish

Two 1-1 sessions with me, one at the beginning to set your personal goals and make sure the group is right for you, and one at the end to consolidate what you've learned and plan your next steps.

Eight live group sessions

Build a community and support each other to put the skills into practice. Keep each other accountable, overcome the hurdles together and celebrate the wins. Every step in the right direction is worth getting the pom-poms out for… though we have a tendency to minimise our own successes. Your group comrades and I will help you to recognise the progress you make, because you can’t build on something you can’t see.

  • Running over 8 consecutive weeks
  • 90 minute sessions
  • Live practice at practical skills, so that you're building the ‘doing’ in sessions, not just the understanding.
  • A small, supportive group of 6-8 people

A workbook that grows with you

After each session you'll receive a new chapter: a brief summary of what we covered, plus an activity or reflection to try that week. By the end you'll have built your own personalised toolkit to keep and come back to whenever you need it.

📜 Do I need a formal diagnosis?

This group is designed as post-diagnosis support, so part of our work together involves making sense of your diagnostic journey.

I understand that it’s very difficult for some to access an assessment and do not want to put up unnecessary gatekeeping barriers. If you're self-identified or still exploring whether you're neurodivergent, you're very welcome too. I plan to keep a separate waiting list for you. A group without a formal diagnosis requirement may take a little longer to fill, as most people find me through post-diagnosis content. The upside is well worth the wait: you'll be in a group genuinely matched to where you are in your journey, with content adapted to reflect that and a group of people with similar experiences.

Wherever you are in your journey of diagnosis, register your interest and I'll be in touch when there's a group that fits.

"I've seen cheaper post-diagnosis groups, what makes this one worth it?"

A fair question. Here’s some information to help you compare the group offers you find.

This group is led by a HCPC registered Doctor of Clinical Psychology, specialising in supporting neurodivergent clients.

I offer a rare combination of personal and professional insight. I live with ADHD, several other layers of neurodiversity and health struggles, as is common for neurodivergent people. So, I can offer an inside-out understanding of what genuinely helps. Real skills, for real life, in doable steps.

Clients often reflect that they’ve tried several other forms of therapy and were beginning to lose hope, but working with me they have been able to finally build a life that feels meaningful and enjoyable.

What are your qualifications?

Excellent question. Here are the details.

I am a Clinical Psychologist and Behavioural Scientist.

I have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. I’m trained in ACT, CFT, CBT, mindfulness, trauma therapies and behaviour-change science. I’ve worked across the NHS, academia, research and private practice since 2009.

I have been studying Psychology since 2004 and I will never stop. I am passionate about my work and am excited that there is always more to learn.

I have supported clients in over 7,000 hours of one-to-one therapy sessions.

I am registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council).

Over many years, I've seen repeated patterns in what hurts and what helps. I also practise what I teach. Living with ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, Irlen syndrome, PMDD and chronic pain means GlitterBrain is built from the inside out. It's evidence-based psychology with high-dopamine delivery your brain can tune into.

If you want to learn skills that stick instead of hacks that slip, you're in the right place. Welcome to GlitterBrain Psychology.
