Frajda Socks

Frajda it’s a polish word meaning fun or pleasure and I had definitely a great pleasure knitting these socks. This simple fair isle pattern is easy to make and looks so pretty at the same time. You should try it Yourself!
Frajda socks are knitted from toe-up, seamlessly in the round, with the heel flap. The pattern includes written instructions and charts for stranded sections.

Finished foot circumference, unstretched: { 17.6, 18.8, 21.1 } cm / { 7, 7.5, 8.5 } ”
The socks were designed to be worn with about 2.5 cm / 1 “ of negative ease in width.

YARN
For a pair of socks you’ll need about { 280, 300, 320 } m / { 306, 328, 350 } y of any fingering weight yarn.
MC: { 140, 150, 160 } m / { 153, 164, 175 } y and CC: { 140, 150, 160 } m / { 153, 164, 175 } y.
Note that the yardage is estimated and depends on sock length.
2 skeins in different colors of Woollala Sock Merino ( 75% Wool - Merino, 25% Nylon / Polyamide; 420m / 459y per 100g ).

NEEDLES
2.25 mm ( US #1 ) circular needles for magic loop or DPNS, or size needed to get the right gauge for stockinette stitch;
2.5 mm ( US #1.5 ) circular needles for magic loop or DPNS, or size needed to get the right gauge for stranded pattern;

ADDITIONAL MATERIALS
stitch markers, row counter, tapestry needle for weaving ends.

GAUGE
34 sts and 46 rounds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 “ - in stockinette stitch pattern worked in the
round with 2.25 mm ( US #1 ) needles, after wet blocking.
34 sts and 36 rounds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4 “ - in stranded colorwork pattern worked in the
round with 2.5 mm ( US #1.5 ) needles, after wet blocking.
Adjust needle size if necessary to get given gauge. I recommend swatching for both, solid stockinette stitch as well as stranded colorwork – swatch should be knit in the rounds.
