"Kings of the Open Plain" celebrates the quiet strength of bison set against a vibrant reimagining of the Grand Tetons. The pastel medium allowed me to heighten the colors of the mountains --deep blues and purples--transforming the familiar landscape into something both majestic and dreamlike. The contrast between the small herd in the grasses and the towering, luminous peaks emphasizes resilience, scale and timeless connection between wildlife and the land they inhabit.
