Starting an AS9100D system from a blank page takes months. Buying a 400-page template set takes nearly as long, because then you have to cut out everything that doesn't fit a 20-person shop.

This kit is the middle path: a short quality manual and the six system procedures every AS9100D shop needs, written so you can edit them to match how your shop actually works.

What's inside (Word, Excel, and PDF):

01 Quality Manual Template: company profile, scope and exclusions (with guidance on when you can exclude design), quality policy, objectives, authorities, a process table with owners, inputs, outputs, and measures, and a clause-by-clause "how we do it" table you fill in.

02 QP-01 Document and Record Control: approval, release, obsolete copies, customer drawings and specs, record entries, backup, and retention.

03 QP-02 Internal Audit: risk-based program, auditor objectivity in a small shop, running the audit, follow-up.

04 QP-03 Nonconformance and Corrective Action: hold tags, MRB, when the customer must approve a disposition, escapes, root cause, and effectiveness.

05 QP-04 Management Review: full input and output list, plus an agenda and minutes form.

06 QP-05 Training and Competence: sign-offs, inspector approval, awareness topics, training effectiveness, plus a training matrix.

07 QP-06 Control of External Providers: supplier approval, PO quality clauses and flowdowns, receiving checks, performance reviews.

08 Risk and Opportunity Register (Excel): issues and the climate decision, interested parties, risk register with residual scoring, job-level operational risks, heat map, and summary.

00 Start Here guide: a step-by-step build order and a list of what you still need to write.

Every procedure has purpose, scope, a roles table, step-by-step instructions, a records table with retention, related documents, and revision history. Fill-in fields are marked [LIKE THIS].

Who it's for: small machine shops, fabricators, and special-process suppliers building their first AS9100D system, or replacing a manual nobody follows.

What it is not: a copy of AS9100D. No requirement text is reproduced; the procedures are our own words. Buy the standard from SAE International (sae.org) or ANSI (webstore.ansi.org). Templates are a starting point; your registrar audits what you do.

License: one company, all sites. Edit freely for your own QMS. Works in Word/Excel 2016+, Microsoft 365, and LibreOffice; no macros.
