Auer is a crescent shaped shawl knit top-down, starting from the neck. It is worked in garter stitch and simple lace. The Finnish word auer means haze formed by dry dust particles.
Finished size:
The model shawl is 137 cm/54 in wide, 52 cm/20.5 in deep after blocking. The eventual size depends on your gauge. If you are after a larger shawl, use fingering weight yarn - note that you will need more than suggested - and larger needles.
Yarn:
ColourMart Cashmere 8/44NM 4ply wt (799 m/874 yd per 150 g).
Yardage:
600 m/656 yd or 110 g.
Gauge:
19 sts and 26 rows per 10 cm in garter stitch blocked, but gauge is not crucial.
Needles:
3 mm (US 2.5) or the size you need to make gauge.
Other supplies:
A removable stitch marker if you want to mark the right side of the work.
One of the pattern files is in English, the other one is in Finnish.
