Friendship SEL Real Friend or Plastic Friend ?

This resource supports Friendship Skills for SEL in Middle Years. There are 4 puzzles, each of which represents either the qualities of a REAL friend or a PLASTIC Friend. The students will be given one puzzle piece from one of 2 puzzles (Real or Plastic Friends). They mingle through the classroom and must read the caption on their puzzle piece to at lease 3 classmates. Eventually students will be asked to join the group they think their puzzle piece belongs to: Real or Plastic Friendship ? Once the 2 groups have their members they put the puzzles together. The can then read their captions on their puzzle aloud to the class, and discuss. Any surprises ? Any Reflections ? Any additional examples ? Use the checklists included to help students track their own friendships.
