As far back as I can remember, I’d hop up on the kitchen counter while Mama cooked supper and tell her about my day—about any and everything. And Mama would listen.
She’d come home from work and go straight to cooking, never missing a beat. Looking back now, I’m sure she would have loved a little quiet time. But she always had time for me.
