Flashes of colour pop in this cross-over style baby cardigan. With contrast-coloured garter stitch seams that are knitted-in rather than sewn, this sweater will be great fun to make and even more fun to wear.
The knitted seams are worked in a hybrid pick up and knit and three-needle bind-off. There’s no sewing in this project.
Knit them for all the kids, big and small; larger sizes are available in the Rain City Kid v-neck cardign pattern.
This knitting pattern includes written directions, a schematic with measurements, and thoughtful details.

Substitution Notes
The original yarn, discontinued yarn is a 4-ply, DK weight, 100% superwash Bluefaced Leicester yarn that works up at 22 sts to 4” (10 cm). Any smooth DK weight yarn should do the trick. Wool, wool blends and cottons would all substitute nicely.
Techniques
Increases/decreases, short rows, modified set-in sleeve sweater construction, worked flat, bottom up, sleeves top down, picking up stitches, no sewing seams, buttonholes and sewing on buttons.
