Ceramics Now Magazine - September 2025
Ceramics Now Magazine Issue 13 (September 2025) features the work of Ayaka Terajima on the cover. In her recent exhibition Spacey Clay at nouveaux deuxdeux in Munich, Terajima merges spiritual symbolism, mass-produced materials, and mythic figuration to craft vessels that meditate on consumption, transformation, and celestial cycles.
This issue brings together articles that highlight biennials, institutions, and artists shaping today's ceramic discourse. Katherina Perlongo covers the Premio Faenza 2025, the 63rd International Biennial of Contemporary Ceramics in Italy, and writes about Formed by Ceramic Salon, a project that maps Berlin's vibrant and diverse ceramic scene. James Young reflects on the elemental power of Koichiro Isezaki's Bizen-fired vessels at Goldmark. Christina Rauh Oxbøll writes about Michael Geertsen's collaboration with Royal Copenhagen, and Elaine Henry offers insights from NCECA 2025, reflecting on diversity, legacy, and a growing sense of community.
This issue features artists Carolein Smit, Michelle Solorzano, Arina Antonova, Joon Hee Kim, and Vincent Frimpong, whose practices span storytelling, symbolism, and material transformation.
