The tax-rate data in this pack comes from the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l'Habitation (MAMH), Rapport financier des organismes municipaux – Données prévisionnelles, Données Québec (https://www.donneesquebec.ca/recherche/dataset/rapport-financier-des-organismes-municipaux-et-autres-documents), licensed under CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/), and modified by LOUD (fields selected, combined and reformatted; invalid values removed). Nothing in Payhip's standard licence or in this licence limits what you may do with that MAMH data under CC BY 4.0. LOUD's own layout, calculator and documentation may not be resold or given away as-is as a competing product. Please credit the source as above and don't suggest the Gouvernement du Québec or the MAMH endorses you.
Compare general property tax rates across 1,126 Quebec municipalities. Pick a municipality and year from the drop-downs, type in the assessed value, and the calculator estimates the general property tax (taxe foncière générale), residential and non-residential.
Includes the rates adopted in municipal budgets for 2024, 2025 and 2026, cleaned and ready to sort, filter and chart.
What's included
- QC_Property_Tax_Calculator.xlsx: calculator with drop-downs (built and tested in Excel/LibreOffice)
- Clean rates file (CSV, 3,143 rows): municipality, code, MRC, region, year, rate structure, residential and non-residential rates
- Two wide tables: one row per municipality, one column per year
- Data dictionary and README
Good for: people moving within Quebec, realtors, investors and analysts comparing municipalities.
Good to know
- The rates come free from the MAMH's open data on Données Québec. You're paying for the extraction from a 2,000-column budget file, readable names and the ready-made calculator.
- General tax only. Quebec bills usually add special taxes (water, sewer, garbage, debt), service charges and school tax, so the full bill is higher. Always confirm with your municipality.
- No personal information.
- Instant digital download (ZIP).
