Remote First Aid Training — The Complete 6-Scenario Course

Interactive Decision-Training Platform — First Out Health

This isn't a first aid course. It's decision training.

There's a meaningful difference. A first aid course teaches you technique. This teaches you what to do when you're tired, it's 40 degrees, you're 300km from help, and someone in your group is getting worse.

Six scenarios. The six remote emergencies that most commonly end a trip — or a life — in outback Australia. Each one built as an interactive decision-training session, not a passive video to watch and forget.

The six scenarios.

Anaphylaxis in the outback — A sting. Mild symptoms. Then it escalates fast. Learn to recognise anaphylaxis before the airway closes and act before certainty arrives.

Snakebite — what actually matters — The bite happened. Most of what you've been told is wrong. Learn what the pressure immobilisation technique actually does, why you don't wash the wound, and why the patient doesn't move.

Major bleeding — hours from help — Deep laceration, 80km from the nearest roadhouse. What goes on first, what never comes off in the field, and how to pack a wound when a tourniquet can't reach.

Chest pain — stay or go? — Vague discomfort. Subtle red flags. The decision to keep driving may be the last one he makes. Learn the false reassurance trap before you fall into it.

Heat illness vs dehydration — They look nearly identical until one of them kills you. Cooling is the treatment. Fluids are support. Know the difference before the skin stops sweating.

Kids in remote emergencies — Children compensate until they don't. Then they go fast. Learn the behavioural signs that matter more than any single vital sign.

How it works.

Each scenario runs 12–15 minutes. Every 30–40 seconds is an interaction — a flip card decision, a timed choice, a field reality pop-up that changes the situation mid-scenario. Every decision reveals an outcome and an explanation. The 'why' is never withheld.

At the end of each scenario: a confidence check, rapid-fire true/false questions, and a printable field card. One page. If X, do Y. For the glovebox. For the first aid kit. For the moment you can't afford to search.

What you get.

One HTML file. Download it before you leave phone coverage. It works completely offline on any device — phone, tablet, laptop — with no login, no app, and no internet connection required. Six scenarios. Thirty-plus decisions. Six printable field cards.

Who this is for.

Grey nomads and remote Australian travellers who've done a first aid course and know they need more than technique. People planning the Gibb River Road, Cape York, the Kimberley, the Simpson, or any extended trip where the nearest hospital is measured in hours. Anyone who wants to train their decision-making, not just their memory.

Built by.

An intensive care paramedic with remote retrieval experience. Not a content creator. Not an algorithm. Someone who has been on the other end of an RFDS callout for a patient who wasn't prepared.

Not medical advice. Educational preparedness tool. In a medical emergency, call 000. firstouthealth.com.au
