Shades of Scotland Quilt - 2 sizes

In 2019 I went on a dream trip to Scotland. I couldn't take quilts with me to photograph with all that beautiful scenery - so I did the next best thing. I took quilt blocks instead and photographed them at various locations around Scotland. When I returned home, I wanted to put all the blocks together into the ultimate souvenir quilt. Which is what you see here.

This pattern contains the sixteen blocks - some traditional blocks, some designed from scratch - as well as the circular setting. It is all foundation pieced.

I've included two sizes of this pattern. The smaller version of the pattern is made with 4" finished blocks, and creates a 32" x 32" square. The size would work beautifully for the centre of a larger quilt, or for a baby quilt.  The larger version of this quilt is made with 6" finished blocks making a 48" x 48" square. Both versions of this pattern are included in this listing.

The beauty of this pattern is that if you don't particularly want to use the 16 smaller blocks included - you can switch them out with any 4" finished (4.5" unfinished) or 6" finished (6.5" unfinished) blocks and still place them into the circular design as shown in the diagram.

You will find 16 block patterns, as well as the pattern for the circular setting in this PDF. Please note it is quite a large file due to all the patterns included in it. Quarter inch seam allowance is included on all the templates.

There are two PDF versions included in your download - one is for Letter size paper (most commonly used in the US), and the other is for A4 sized paper (rest of the world). Print from the one that matches your paper size best. The different sizes are provided due to templates printing across pages and the necessity to tape them together before you start sewing.

Included in the pattern: Assembly instructions, colouring sheet and full sized templates with a quarter inch seam allowance already added. There are no Y-seams in this pattern (or in any of my patterns).

Foundation paper piecing instructions are not included, but you can find tutorials on my website at quietplaydesigns.com. It is recommended that you print the pattern at "Actual Size" and with no scaling. There are also printing hints & tips on my website.
