The Tiger I, officially designated as the Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger Ausf. E, was a German heavy tank used during World War II. It was developed in response to the Soviet T-34 and KV tanks, which outclassed existing German tanks in terms of firepower and armor protection. The Tiger I was designed to provide German forces with superior firepower and armor protection on the battlefield.
The Tiger I entered production in 1942 and saw combat on the Eastern Front, North Africa, and Western Europe. It was heavily armed with an 88mm KwK 36 L/56 main gun, which was highly effective against enemy tanks at long range. The tank also featured thick armor, ranging from 25mm to 120mm in thickness, providing excellent protection for its crew
