“But beauty is about finding the right fit, the most natural fit, to be perfect, you have to feel perfect about yourself—avoid trying to be something you’re not.”
- Aphrodite to her daughter, in Rick Riordan’s The Lost Hero

This stranded hat was inspired by Aphrodite, Greek goddess of love and beauty. The festive design is full of symbols often linked with love, beauty and nature; boxed windows, columns, meanders and the Greek key on the bottom section symbolizing the beauty of landscape and architecture. Then the design continues to scallops harboring a heart symbol, fireworks coming from a house, leaping to the sun.

The variegated and gradient colors bring movement to the design, and the corrugated ribbing on the brim adds a nice texture as well.

PATTERN NOTES

This hat is worked in the round from the brim to the crown.
The pattern uses 1 solid color for MC and 5 gradient/variegated colors for CC.
The brim is worked in corrugated ribbing, then the body of the hat is worked in stranded knitting, with the unused color carried along the back of the work. Catch floats every 3 - 4 stitches.
Repeats will be expressed as “x”. For example, “x 3” means repeat 3 times.
Stranded knitting is prone to making the fabric pucker if you knit too tightly. Mind your tension and allow enough slack in the float.
