The House Called Us

The House Called Us — Before We Arrived

By JT Henry

An anonymous call. An isolated farmhouse. An invitation that feels strangely personal.

Jack Mercer and his investigative team arrive at Blackwood House expecting to examine an unusual archive. Instead, they find journals describing familiar patterns, voices calling from empty rooms, and footage of a figure none of them remembers seeing.

Then they discover a future-dated page describing events that have not yet happened.

As the team follows the evidence, signs of deliberate human interference complicate every discovery. Someone knows their histories. Someone has shaped their investigation. And whatever waits in the hillside passages beyond the house seems to understand how deeply people want to be recognized.

To uncover why they were brought to Blackwood, they must question the invitation—and their growing need to answer it.

The House Called Us — Before We Arrived is an atmospheric supernatural mystery about memory, manipulation, and the uneasy boundary between recognition and trust. For readers who enjoy slow-building dread, haunted places, investigative suspense, and characters whose vulnerabilities matter as much as the mystery.

They came to investigate the house. Someone had been preparing for their arrival.
