The Calm Standard is how a property holds its feeling over time.
I work with owners and their teams to define exactly how a place should look, feel and function — and then to make that knowable, teachable and repeatable, so it doesn't live in one person's head or depend on me coming back.
What it involves
- Defining the standard: what this property should feel like to arrive at, move through and stay in
- A written Calm Standard for your property — room by room, area by area, in plain language
- Reset guidance so any staff member can return a space to its intended state
- Working directly with your team so they understand not just what to do, but why it matters
- Guidance on what to buy, replace and repair as things wear, so the standard doesn't erode through small decisions
- Ongoing review, at whatever rhythm suits the property
Why it matters
Guests can't always name what makes one property feel better than another. But they feel it, and they book accordingly. The properties that hold their feeling are the ones where somebody decided what it was and gave the team a way to protect it.
