Cinderhall Progressive and Odd-Time Metal: 7-String B Standard MIDI (Pack 12)

CINDERHALL PROGRESSIVE AND ODD-TIME METAL

Prog and odd-time metal for 7-string guitar and 5-string bass in B Standard. Riffs in 5/4, 7/8, 9/8, 11/8, 13/16 and 15/16, real meter changes inside each arrangement, five-over-four polymeter sections, clean arpeggio passages, melodic and tapped-style leads. Each arrangement runs about 2 to 2.5 minutes in song form (intro, riff, variation, contrast, return, breakdown or climax, outro). Eight arrangements:

- Meridian Fault (E Dorian, 110 BPM, 56 bars; 5/4 and 4/4)

- Lydian Engine (B Lydian, 120 BPM, 63 bars; 9/8 and 4/4)

- Saffron Mechanism (B Phrygian dominant, 96 BPM, 42 bars; 11/8 and 4/4)

- Cartographer (E Dorian, 90 BPM, 48 bars; 5/4, 7/8 and 4/4)

FULL OR SPLIT PARTS, NOT BOTH

Load the FULL file or the split parts, never both, or every note plays twice.

METERS, POLYMETER AND CLEAN PARTS

Every file carries real time-signature events at each meter change, at the same positions in the FULL file and the split parts. Keep your DAW's time-signature import on so the bar lines match. Poly sections are in 4/4 with a guitar figure that repeats every five 16th notes over the drums and lines up again after five bars. Clean sections are on the same guitar track as the heavy riffs; section markers in each file show where they start.

SET YOUR TUNING TO B STANDARD

Guitar (7-string): B1 E2 A2 D3 G3 B3 E4. Bass (5-string): B0 E1 A1 D2 G2.

All eight arrangements use B Standard, including those in E Dorian and F# minor. Guitar MIDI 35 to 77 and lead MIDI 59 to 83. Bass MIDI 23 to 50, down to a low B0, so you need a 5-string bass (or a 4-string tuned to B).

Tempos run from 90 to 170 BPM.

FORMAT

Standard MIDI files, format 1, 960 PPQ. Time signatures 4/4, 5/4, 7/8, 9/8, 11/8, 13/16 and 15/16, with changes inside each arrangement. GM drums on channel 10; guitar on channel 1, bass on 2, lead on 3. Not tested with specific DAWs or operating systems.

LICENCE

Use the MIDI files in your own music, commercial or not, with no further fees or credit, and edit them freely inside your works. You may not resell, share or redistribute the MIDI files themselves. Full terms: LICENSE.txt (English) and LICENCE-FR.txt (French) in the download.
