A paycheck budget that knows your real take-home pay. Enter your gross pay once and every 2026 paycheck shows what you actually get after federal and state tax - then the bills due before your next paycheck and what is left over.

What you get

  • One Excel file (xlsx), formulas only, no macros.
  • My paycheck: your take-home pay per paycheck and for 2026 - federal income tax (IRS Publication 15-T 2026, Form W-4 2020 or later), Social Security, Medicare, state income tax, state disability and family leave contributions, pre-tax 401(k) and Section 125.
  • State income tax calculated for California, Georgia, Illinois, Missouri, New Jersey, New York (with New York City and Yonkers), North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia; $0 for Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wyoming. Other states: type your state tax per paycheck once.
  • Paycheck budget: every pay date in 2026 (weekly, biweekly, semimonthly or monthly) with take-home pay, bills due before the next paycheck, every-paycheck set-asides (groceries, savings), left over, and left over so far this year.
  • Bills: up to 40 bills - monthly with a due day, every paycheck, or one time with a date. Each bill is assigned to the last paycheck on or before its due date.
  • Bill calendar: which paycheck covers each bill, month by month.
  • Year-to-date limits are applied: the Social Security wage base, the Additional Medicare threshold and state contribution caps, paycheck by paycheck.

Checked: in 12 test setups (all 10 calculated states, a no-tax state, an entered-tax state, weekly with 53 paychecks, mid-year starts, the Social Security cap), 6,430 values - pay dates, taxes, take-home pay, bills per paycheck and left over - were compared with a separate implementation: 0 differences.

Not included: local taxes other than New York City and Yonkers, supplemental or bonus pay, tips, Forms W-4 from 2019 or earlier.
