Light Trails Shawlette
Light Trails is a shawl knit from the bottom up, working two stranded slip stitches as you go, creating travelling pillars of colour that converge as you decrease.
Designed to make the most of colourful skeins of yarn you can choose from those precious single skeins of 4ply in your collections or make a bigger bouncier wrap out of DK or thicker.
You can use any weight of yarn for this shawl, though you will need to adjust, your needle sizes and yarn consumption accordingly, as more yarn will be needed for thicker weight yarns.
Yarn
1–1.2 skeins of Companion 4ply 400–480m/437–525yds
Or
2 skeins of Third Vault Yarns Hardy Dk 245m/268yds each
A wool yarn of similar weight with good spring and recovery would be a suitable substitute. This can also be replaced by plant-based yarns of a similar weight; however, these yarns will not have the same bounce or handle.
