This interactive online course explains what to do in the first few minutes of an accident or medical emergency at work. It covers the role of the first aider and what the law requires, how to check a scene and keep yourself safe, the primary survey (DR ABC), how to place someone in the recovery position, dealing with common workplace injuries such as bleeding, burns, breaks, choking and shock, how and when to call for help, and what to record in the accident book.

This is an awareness course to build confidence and is not a substitute for a regulated First Aid at Work qualification.
