Inks and Pigments sample sheets

Three sheets of painted swatches (36 total) illustrating the core palette of medieval Islamic colour sources, a few admixtures from text sources, and different types of black inks and effects. All hand-prepared in my studio, they include rare and precious pigments like gold, lapis lazuli and carthamin (safflower red). They're a natural companion to my book Inks & Paints of the Middle East but can also stand alone; they come in an envelope with tape so that you can attach it inside the last page of the book if you wish.

Please keep away from light as these include plant colours which are not lightfast. Also note that these are indicative: all natural colours, including mineral ones, will show variation depending on where they're sourced and how they're prepared.
