The Corporate Priesthood
The corporate priesthood is the royal priesthood expressed in professional and organisational life. We belong to Christ before we belong to a profession. We enter offices, classrooms, hospitals, studios, workshops, boardrooms and public institutions as people consecrated to God. Our work becomes a sphere of worship, our responsibilities become opportunities for service, and our influence becomes a stewardship before Him.
This book is a practical guide to identity, mindset and kingdom service. Its biblical background helps us understand the relationship between worship and work. The earlier priesthood patterns provide a foundation for that connection. Melchizedek presents a striking picture of priesthood and public responsibility together. Joseph, Daniel, Nehemiah and David show aspects of prayerful influence in administration, government and leadership. In Christ, we receive the access to God and shared royal priestly identity from which we can live out this calling today.
