WHAT STUDENTS LEARN

Students learn that bubble letters are thick, rounded letters that artists can outline, shade, pattern and decorate to make words stand out. They also learn about modern graffiti art in an age-appropriate way, with its bold lettering, bright colors, symbols and personal expression, and use those ideas on paper.

Students brainstorm favorite things, design a patterned background, draw their name in bubble letters, add borders and details, color their name, create favorite-things bubbles, and then cut, glue and assemble the final artwork. The finished pieces work well for Back to School bulletin boards, Meet the Teacher, Open House, hallway displays and homeschool portfolios. All illustrations in this resource are original art created by Ms Artastic.
