Little Things: 42 cinquain poems
When I learned about cinquain poems, and specifically the American cinquain format, I started writing poems about all kinds of everyday things. I want other people to know you don't have to use flowery language with deep symbolism about the mysteries of life in order to write poems.
This collection of 42 poems includes simple explanations of the formats, written as the poems they are explaining. The majority of the poems, though, are about things like communication in relationships, learning to juggle, love of lakes and oceans, and thoughts about deciding to release a collection of poems into the world. Some are serious. Some are silly.
The American cinquain poem is five lines, with syllable counts of 2-4-6-8-2. There are also a few variations, but these are all short poems.
