More Than a Book — Discovering What God’s Word Can Do

The Bible is more than a book we carry to church. It is God’s Word—and it can guide us, show us truth, change us, feed us, strengthen us, equip us, and point us to Jesus!

In this adventure-themed Bible lesson, children become “explorers” as they travel through Scripture and discover what the Bible says about itself. Using simple everyday objects—including water, a lamp, mirror, bread, hammer, and sword—each stop along the expedition brings children back to the Word of God.

The journey ends at the treasure chest, where children discover that God’s Word is “more to be desired… than gold” and are invited to consider the most important question of all: What will I do with what God’s Word has shown me?
