Description

This final theme integrates the preceding Lean Manufacturing themes into an end-to-end framework for diagnosing, designing, implementing, evaluating, scaling and sustaining organizational Lean transformation. It moves beyond the isolated use of Lean tools by treating Lean as a multidimensional socio-technical transformation involving strategy, leadership, processes, technology, people, organizational culture, quality, maintenance, supply chains, digitalization and sustainability. The theme covers Lean maturity assessment, organizational readiness, implementation roadmaps, intervention prioritization, barriers and enablers, critical success factors, Hoshin Kanri and strategic alignment, performance-measurement systems, operational and financial outcomes, employee and social outcomes, sustainability, digital transformation and continuous improvement. This integrated perspective is supported by research showing that Lean tools can interact as a system—for example, Kaizen, Kanban, TQM, Poka-Yoke and Hoshin Kanri have been modelled jointly to examine their relationships with strategic objectives and their implementation over time.
