Tesselia Pattern PDF: Four Mix & Match Crochet Textures for Making Belts, Straps, Bags, Washcloths & More
Tesselia is a customizable crochet texture pattern built around four repeating stitch sections that flow naturally into one another. The result is a modern textured fabric with strong stitch definition that works beautifully with almost any yarn type and weight.
Originally designed as a crochet belt pattern (or narrow scarf pattern), Tesselia can easily be adapted for a wide variety of rectangular crochet projects. Depending on your yarn choice and sizing, you can use the pattern to create a crochet bag strap, tote bag, headband, cowl, classic scarf, wide wrap, cushion cover, rug, blanket, table runner, or other textured crochet accessories and home decor pieces.
One of the strengths of this crochet pattern is its flexibility. The bag shown in the listing photos was made using exactly the same stitch pattern as the belt sample. The strap is worked identically to the belt, while the bag body was created simply by increasing the number of stitch repeats across the width. The pattern is fully adjustable in both width and length, making it ideal for crocheters who enjoy customizing projects or experimenting with different yarns and hook sizes.

Pattern Details
The PDF includes written instructions for the belt sample shown in the photos:
- Length: 147 cm / 57.87 in
- Width: 3.5 cm / 1.38 in
The sample was made using fingering weight yarn and a 2.2 mm crochet hook. With tight crochet tension, the project requires approximately one skein of yarn. If you crochet more loosely, you may require slightly more yarn depending on your gauge.
To make customization easier, the pattern provides separate gauge information for each of the four texture sections. This allows you to estimate finished sizing and yarn usage more accurately when adapting the pattern for different projects.
