Kitson Code Explainer: Private AI That Explains Errors & Fixes Code

Early release, for learning and personal use. This is an evolving product: we're learning too, and we improve it with each update based on your feedback. AI answers can be wrong and aren't professional advice. You'll be asked to accept these terms when you first open the app.

Paste an error and your code; get a plain-English explanation and a fixed version, on your own computer.

WHAT IT DOES

• Explains error messages and code line by line for beginners
• - Finds the likely cause and shows a corrected version, with what changed and how to test it
• - Works with Python, JavaScript and most common languages
• - If you paste code containing an API key or password, it removes the secret before saving or sending it and tells you to revoke it

WHAT YOU NEED

• Windows, Mac or Linux
• - Free Node.js 18+
• - Free Ollama with a coding model: qwen2.5-coder:14b (about 9 GB download, 16 GB RAM) gives the best answers and is what we tested with; qwen2.5-coder:7b is lighter
• - Or your own OpenAI-compatible API key instead of Ollama (you pay that provider)

WHAT'S INCLUDED

The app (zip), start files for Windows/Mac/Linux, and a README with step-by-step setup and troubleshooting. No AI model is included.

HONEST LIMITS

Test any code before you rely on it; AI can suggest code with bugs or security problems. It may not know the newest libraries or model names, and it's told to ask rather than change them. Not a substitute for a code review by an experienced developer. Private when run with Ollama on your PC; Cloud mode sends your text to the provider you choose.

Please check the requirements before buying. If you can't get it running, email kit376351@gmail.com within 14 days and I'll help. If we still can't get it working, you get a full refund. Refunds aren't given because AI answers weren't perfect or for a change of mind after use.
