When I was growing up, I so desperately wanted someone to see me as I truly am.
Not what I want others to see.
Who I am at the core.
To feel valued without the identity of having a job, being a mother, a partner, a cook, a cleaner, an emotional supporter and all the other hats I have worn in any one day.
I no longer want to earn my value through others validation which was always short lived and never reached me at a level that brought peace.
Listening to outside voices really doesn’t work because you end up in this in between, lost.
You’re not you and you do not recognise who you have become either.
And it’s expensive, there is far more to lose than just money.
You lose your own sense of self and that is far more valuable.
You will have glimpsed it from time to time especially as a child when you did something that felt magical and made you feel alive.
After many years of embracing my inner world through art, I know I am valuable because I am here, I was born. It’s took a very longtime to see this and there are still times I need reminding!
And because I have been through so much when it comes to seeing my own intrinsic value it has developed a beautiful gift.
The gift of being able to truly see others and their unique, true self
And the most important part. Sharing my gift by helping people like you to see who you really are.
