A simple beanie with mock cables that grow like ears of corn, leaves, or flames up a panel to the crown giving a bit of extra stretch. It is named for Brigid the Celtic goddess of arts and crafts and blacksmithing.
This pattern is a great stashbuster. The hat and the matching Brigid fingerless mittens can be made from one 100g skein of 4-ply yarn.

Tension
32 stitches & 39 rows for 10cm in stocking stitch using 2.5mm needles.

Materials
50g/200m of wool or wool blend 4-ply yarn. Sample uses Twinkle (75% Merino, 20% Nylon, 5% Other) from Easyknits.co.uk.
2.5mm circular needle.
Three stitch markers.
