Silent meditation

Bhagavan Ramana has told us how to relate to the world 'Who Am I?'

Resonating with a teacher or a teaching

Sometimes we have a strong resonance with a teacher but we have to be careful as that teacher may just be providing a space for you to go deeper and you may be going deeper than the teacher

Even if you resonate with a teaching and feel like you have understood it the intellectual understanding may not be there

Good spiritual teachers will define all their terms. With less clear teachers, the teaching can be woolly and then people can overlay their own meaning.

The mind can be very discerning in some areas and not in others. Listening and the ability to hear what is being said and what is not being said is a skill. It is an essential part of sravana and manana which leads to nidhidyasana.

Upadesa Saram verse 17 is often misinterpreted and has to be understood in the context of the whole work

Upadesa Saram verse 16 helps us to understand - "It is true wisdom for the mind to turn away from objects and behold its own effulgent form"
