A lie is the opposite of truth

Proverbs 12:5-8 “The thought of the righteous are right, but the counsel of the wicked are deceit.

The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.

The wicked are over thrown and are not, but the house of the righteous shall stand.

A man shall be commended according to his wisdom, but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised”.

Lying is very bad and has terrible consequences

Genesis 2:16-17″And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat.

But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil thou shall not eat of it, for in the day that thou eatest thereof, thou shall surely die”.

Genesis 3:2-3 ” And the woman (Eve) said unto the serpent , we may eat of the fruit of the garden

But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it lest ye die”.
