Carmen: A Year with a Snake in Finland

Carmen is a corn snake who has been relocated, and she assumes there was a competition.

She lives in a Finnish flat with a heat lamp she calls her sun, a cat who lists everything he owns, a woman who narrates her every thought and gets it wrong, and a man who was against the whole idea and who now checks her thermostat at two in the morning.

This first collection follows one full Finnish year, from the September she arrives to the September she has always been there. The dark comes in October. She sheds her skin in November. There is a Christmas jumper with sleeves and a snake with no arms. There is a power cut, a sauna she is not allowed into, a trip to the vet, a summer with no darkness at all.

The pets speak to each other. The humans never hear a word of it. Ten chapters of comic strips, six full Sunday pages, and one man who keeps saying the thermostat is unreliable.

70 full-colour pages. DRM-free PDF and EPUB included. Read on any device.
