A Story of Identity

“Whooooo arrrrrrre yoooooooouu?” the caterpillar smoked his hookah and asked.

I didn’t know. Not really. But there were many labels and ideas out there. I could be one of them.

I sipped from the bottle and became a label.

Now I was someone!

But nothing seemed right. Everything was dissonant, a jumble. I didn’t fit my skin. The feeling of me was elusive.

I’d assumed a label that didn’t fit. Not really.

So I made that label into something else entirely. I warped it, stretched it, and made it my own.

YES! This is who I was. Now I knew.

8" x 10" (approx. 20.3 cm x 25.4 cm) each, three (3) mounted prints.
